One of the advantages of a wet sprinkler system is its quick response time since water is already in the pipes, ready to flow.

However, these systems are typically used in environments where freezing is not a concern because the water in the pipes can freeze in cold temperatures, potentially causing damage to the system. In this circumstance, you could consider alternative systems such as a Dry type and Pre-Action system.
