UCL Marshgate
UCL Marshgate opened in 2023. It has 33,500 m2 of space for research and teaching and cost approx. £250 million to construct.
It has 12 floors (including basement and roof plantroom areas) and contains a cafe, community hub, lecture theatre, and three 'vertical neighbourhoods' above; all joined by a full-height atrium in the centre of the building.
Rather than being home to any individual faculty, it is intended to support and foster cross-disciplinary teaching and research.
It is on the west side of the Waterworks River, joined with One Pool Street by Thornton bridge, and just south of the Arcelor Mittal Orbit sculpture and observation tower.
